Parenting is a long-term commitment that changes everything, and also brings things into your life that nothing else can. Before deciding, it helps to talk through your specific situation with someone who will listen and help you think clearly.
At Carlisle Area Family Life Center, we offer free, confidential support for women considering parenting. Walk-ins are welcome, and our staff is here to answer questions, connect you with resources, and help you start building a plan.
What Support Is Available?
You can leave our center with more than advice. Every month, we hand out over 15,000 diapers and more than 100 cans of formula. We also provide clothing, gently used baby equipment and supplies, toys, and books. Take what you need.
You do not have to put together a parenting plan from scratch. Beyond what we provide directly, our staff connects you with local programs that support food, housing, and medical care.
We work with local food banks, domestic violence shelters, and transitional housing programs, and we can help you find the ones that fit your situation. When you need a referral to an OB provider or other medical care, we help with that too.
Building Toward Stability
Our Learning and Earning for Expecting Moms (LEEM) program is designed specifically for women preparing to become parents. It covers everything from healthy pregnancy and labor and delivery to budgeting, infant care, and stress management, and it includes material rewards when you complete it.
